buying breading stock
Only keep kits from your best does and bucks. When
buying from other rabbit farms always make sure there young. Buy rabbits that is
about three months old that way they have not got there full size and you no
there not old. Try to get rabbits from the largest litters. This is hard to know
if your buying from some one else. Buying from a breeder helps most back yard
rabbits do not keep records. Your more likely to get a pure bread then a mixed
rabbit from a breeder. Good records is important so that your not getting a
inbreed rabbits. Watch for buck teeth or you will be clipping teeth and ear
mites look at the rabbits eyes to see the there watery make sure the rabbit look
good and check there feet for sore hocks. When you buy a new rabbit keep it by
its self for about two weeks to make sure its healthy before you take it to your
barn. I always treat new rabbits for ear mites when I get it home you
don't wont ear mites going around your barn. When buying bucks for breading buy
from a farm that you have not bought from this way you get a new blood line.
