Nest
box
comes in a wide
verity of sizes and types. I use wood nest boxes because they keep warmer in the
winter and cooler in the summer than metal boxes do. There down fall is they
don't last as long. I use plywood for the bottom and the sides and the top. then
I put a thin strip of wood along the opening of the nest box it helps to keep
the doe from dragging the kits out. Its about one inch wide the biggest trouble
I have is they come apart after a couple of years. I use a nail gun but the
nails cant be very big or it will split the plywood. I use wood glue also when
putting it together next time I build nest boxes I am going to try putting a
coat of wood protector on it and see if that helps. my nest boxes are the same
size as the metal boxes are. If any one has a better plain please email me.
